"Full refund if you don't see results." That one line dissolves hesitation better than any other sales pitch — which is exactly why it deserves scrutiny.
A guarantee can be engineered so that almost nobody qualifies. What matters is not that a guarantee exists, but that its exact conditions are available in writing before you pay.
The 6 conditions to verify before paying
- ① Scope: full tuition or partial? Are enrollment fees, admin fees, and installment interest included?
- ② Deadline: how many days after purchase? Does the window even make sense? (A 30-day guarantee on a program whose results take 6 months is a guarantee in name only)
- ③ Completion requirements: what must you finish first — every assignment, daily work logs, full attendance?
- ④ Proof burden: is the evidence you must submit realistic, or designed to be failed?
- ⑤ Process: is there a named form or email for claims, or just "talk to your coach"?
- ⑥ When it's disclosed: can you read all of the above before signing? "Details provided in the member guidelines after enrollment" means you cannot verify it — treat it accordingly
Guarantee red flags
Sales pages that say "*conditions apply" without the conditions appearing anywhere are common. Consumer protection agencies in multiple countries have repeatedly warned about expensive "business opportunity" programs sold on the strength of refund promises.

- Eligibility is judged at the seller's discretion ("if we determine you made a serious effort")
- Claims are handled only through a personal chat account
- "It's risk-free because of the guarantee" is used to push you to decide today
One message you can send the seller
"Before I sign, please send the document stating the refund conditions: covered amount, claim deadline, completion requirements, and the claim process." If that doesn't come back in writing, the guarantee should carry zero weight in your decision.
